The Real Reasons You Have Acne
So I imagine you’ve had some experience with all of the acne treatment options that are out on the market today, right? Acne is a billion dollar a year industry and it’s certainly not going anywhere soon.
But there’s a huge problem when it comes to treating your acne; we’re so conditioned to put stuff on our skin that we never wonder if there’s some other way to treat our problems. I mean, it seems pretty logical, right? You see the pimples right there on your skin therefore you put medicine on your skin to stop them from coming back.
Unfortunately, that’s just plain wrong. If you ever hope to cure your acne, you have to address the real causes of it. It’s like anything in medicine; doctors always try to discover the real and underlying problems behind a person’s illness. Do you know why?
If they don’t discover the real problems, they’ll only end up treating the symptoms. And since the real problem is still there, the symptoms keep coming back forever.
Treating acne by putting stuff on your skin falls into this category. By focusing on our skin, we focus only on the symptoms of the real problems. So, in other words, we waste our time and money and ignore the real causes of our breakouts.
We’ve twice now become the victims; first to acne and secondly to the billion dollar a year industry. That’s why you’ll never hear much about this in the main stream; they’re much more interested in patients buying cures than they are with actually curing people. A cured acne patient is no longer a stream of revenue; no more money, dough, moola, deniro! That’s bad for them.
So how do you actually get rid of your acne? Well let’s start with the real causes, shall we? For instance, most people know that oil, bacteria and dead skin get trapped in a pore which in turn leads to a pimple. But what most people don’t know is why the oil, dead skin and bacteria are there in the first place.
For the answer, we must look inside our bodies.
When we eat a typical meal, our body releases insulin to help break down and absorb the food we eat and turn it into energy. The problem, however, lies in the fact that our diets have a lot of simple carbs in them; white bread, white rice, cereals, etc. These foods are essentially just sugar when we eat it. They quickly break down in the body into simple sugars, which causes a spike in our blood sugar level. This, in turn, causes the body to release a spike of insulin to both convert the food into energy as well as to prevent blood sugar levels from becoming too high.
Herein lies the crux of the matter when it comes to our acne problems. Because our diets are so full of these simple carbs and processed items, this process happens again and again for years and even decades. Our bodies become inundated with insulin which causes several different problems for us.
The first and foremost is that these huge insulin releases over time start to wear down our bodies and our immune systems. We develop a chronic, low-grade inflammation that allows the acne bacteria, P. Acnes, to multiply out of control. Normally this bacteria exists in a state of certain harmony on our skin, but given the chance, it will multiply like crazy and get into pores.
Secondly, these large releases of insulin cause something rather interesting to happen to our skin as well. First, too much insulin in our blood streams stimulates the oil glands in our skin. Now the insulin has caused us to start having oilier skin than normal. On top of this, the large amounts of insulin are also causing our skin to flake off faster and in larger clumps than it normally would.
In other words, the huge amounts of insulin in our bodies causes the very reasons why our pores get clogged in the first place. But it’s still not done there! When the body releases these large amounts of insulin, it causes a very rapid drop in our blood sugar levels. As a result, our body releases another hormone called androgens that make us crave sweet, starchy foods because they are good at getting our blood sugar levels back up very quickly. These androgens cause similar problems as insulin; dead skin, oil and bacteria. And when we give into these cravings and eat these foods, we just trigger another cycle.
On and on it goes for years; acne really is just an external reflection of the problems we have inside.
Now I know some people might be wondering, “Well why don’t my friends have acne? They eat worse than I do!” Unfortunately, we’ve just been cursed with acne prone skin/bodies. However, there is a big upside. Just look at your group of friends; I’m willing to bet some of them get constant headaches or migraines, others gain weight very quickly and still others are always sick in some way. All of our bodies react to these problems in different ways. Taken to the extreme, this insulin problem can eventually develop into serious health issues like diabetes!
So what’s the cure?
Well there are many different ways to cure yourself internally and most of them do take time. The one thing I will say is you shouldn’t try to start eliminating everything “bad” from your diet; you’ll just stress yourself out more and cause more breakouts. I’ve been clear for almost 4 years now and I still go to happy hour with my friends and I still enjoy pizza, cheeseburgers and other crappy food.
How did I do it? By using the fastest and most powerful way to cure yourself, that I’m aware of at least, and that is to do a juice fast for a week. By not eating solid foods, you free up enormous amounts of energy in your body that allows it to really go in and take care of what’s wrong with it. It also is like pressing a reset button when it comes to build up of hormones, such as insulin, as well as built up toxins within your body. Everything is flushed out and the causes of your acne disappear.
In turn, so too will your acne disappear.
Admittedly, doing something like not eating for a week and allowing your body to heal from the inside seemed like a huge crock of you know what to me. But, over the years, I had tried just about everything so I figured there was nothing to lose. 15 days and now 3.5 years later, I’m acne free.
So if there is one thing I aim to do with my website and this small rant of mine is that you should at least look into the internal cures for acne. Dermatologists have successfully treated patients through diet, despite the overwhelming claim (without ANY evidence to back up that claim) that diet plays no role in acne.
If the professionals are doing it and regular old people like me are doing it, what’s there to lose?
